Moving often proves very stressful for tenants, which is why we've created this handy checklists. Please, be sure to read through the information below to get answers to many of your pressing questions.

Notice of Intent to Vacate
Please provide us with written notice of your intent to vacate the home at least 30 to 60 days in advance. Please be sure to reference your lease to the correct amount of notice required.
Before you return your keys, please make sure your property is back in its original condition:
Carefully clean every room in your home, taking special care in bathroom and kitchen areas. Remove all of your belongings and dispose of any trash. Below is a checklist for you to download.

Landscaping & Outdoor Areas (if applicable):
If you normally handle outdoor maintenance, please address your lawn care chores and other miscellaneous tasks once more before moving. Please, be sure that you have cleaned the gutters as well.
Take all steps possible to make repairs for any damage that has occurred inside your home. This includes replacing burnt light bulbs or any other damages that are in excess of normal wear and tear. If you are not sure or have any questions about this, please email email@example.com
Walking Out the Door
Trash and Recycling:
Please be sure that all trash is removed from the property or you have made arrangements to have any trash removed from the property before your departure. We will NOT take the trash to the curb for you.
Please DO NOT turn the AC or heat off. In the summer set the thermostats to 80 degrees, or in the winter months set the thermostat to 65 when you are done.
Gas and Electric (if applicable):
You will need to end your gas and electric accounts. We have them set up to transfer back into our names once it is taken out of your name.
Water (If applicable)
You will need to give a final water meter reading and to give them your forwarding address so they can generate your final water bill.
One you have made your final payment please send the confirmation of payment to us via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Your security deposit serves as protection against any damage that occurs during your stay. A final inspection visit will take place following your departure; this allows us to identify any damage that needs to be repaired before the next occupants take residency.
If any new damage is identified, we will make the repairs and use the deposit funds to cover the associated costs. The remainder of the deposit will be returned to you within 45 days.
